Creative Temples

Let us think about space for a moment.

Space that is both physical and mental, both given and created, accidental and intentional. The inseparable relationship between the experience and the experiencer.

More specifically, about the places where we feel (or have felt) the most inspired, creative, safe, in peace, in awe, and in flow.

This reflection intends to refresh our intention on the spaces around us, and thus to nurture awareness of the cycles (or flow) of creation.

Creative Prompt for Our Spaces

  • Remember the places where you’ve perceived otherworldly sensations. What elements sparked such immersive feelings? Think about the relationship between physical elements and the lighting, aroma, sounds, etc. and relate any of these elements to the immersiveness of the experience.
  • Think about the mental states that you want to nurture in an undefined space that allows your most freed expression. The intention here is to briefly separate both the physical and the mental to then bring them together in the next prompt.
  • Brainstorm spaces that would bring inspiration towards the mental states that you want to grow through action. Make a list (or maybe draw) the elements that you envision.
  • How can we modify our existing spaces to adapt them better to our current intention? This is where we merge both the inner and outer worlds, as perception will always have the last word on interpretation.

I hope this introspective exercise brings some freshness into your spaces for today or whenever.

As you already may infer, the result of these prompts is the illustration that is linked to this reflection.

The sketch happened as I was meditating on the space that I was feeling. Translating a state of mind to a space-of-mind. And like so, I visualized some of my plants and others that came to mind. Same happened with the art hanging in my walls, and with all the other elements in the composition.

While I was adding the elements, I would picture myself looking through the human’s eyes to feel more immersed in the space that was taking form. I imagined sensing the scents, temperature, sounds, and every detail of that ambiance; immersion that transported me to a dream-like state where I was able to thoroughly appreciate all the elements that the space held.

Now, with the amazing power of technology and creativity, I’m now able to move some elements of this space to a digital world called Topia.io <3

Art Island @ Topia.io

Talking about spaces that inspire creativity, the amazing people at Art Island are organizing an artsy online party through the new Topia.io platform for the first time ever. This Burning Man-inspired party will have Djs, Dancers, Drawing Sessions (✌), and a lot more to explore!

I’ll be live drawing visual elements of the “New World” by using Fibonacci compositions while being surrounded by all kinds of digital artistry.
Hope to see you at the Art Island Topia this Saturday, 5th of Sept. from 9pm to 11pm <3 Click here to Learn More

All that said, I invite us to continue to foster intentionality in our spaces as they are a major influence in our mental processes.
