I feel that I’ve said this a million times now but the more I look into it, the more I see this.
The thing is that I can really perceive 2020 as a year about the creation of new communities and the strengthening of existing ones.
From local book/creative clubs and city-wide protests, to entire organizations brought up because of the Coronavirus, we are experiencing the creation and solidification of entities that are acting for the greater good of our surroundings. 

Community for us is being able to grow together. 

To collaborate, to reciprocate value.
To support each other by having meaningful conversations, by sharing inspiration and tools, by creating safe spaces of creative development. To engage with each other while nurturing relationships. To maximize our collective long-term impact. 

& we believe we are driven to create communities because we want to give and receive opportunities of growth in any of our areas of interest.

The communities that inspired us to do this:

-The friends whom I’ve had creative sessions with
-The art communities here in Austin (read the blog post here)
-A spiritual book club in which we are about to finish our first book
-The people whom I met through the selling of my art 

I’m excited to keep growing with these communities (& join others) and continue creating things that contribute to the greater collective.

The main inspiration for this design came from my 2020 vision board that I did with my friends back in December. One of the things I included, (left photo) was a heart-shaped cut-out of a woodstock crowd along with another cut-out of a flame/crown hybrid of this same photograph. This represented the vision of having a stronger sense of community and to be part of new and existing ones. 

And now that we're releasing a sticker inspired by this part of my collage,  we're calling in an overflowing sense of gratitude for the power of this manifestation. 

On the sketching process of this concept, I decided to create a uniform pattern for “the collective consciousness” inside the heart to increase the clarity of the message. On top of that, I also included additional lines (in the digital version) to show an energetic unity between all. 

As for the flame/crown element, I decided to add sharp lines that bring out a sense of light, power and growth.
And lastly, the shape of the heart has no curves due to the boldness -and a more modern look- that I wanted to incorporate.
